Thank you for halting most logging in Argonaut Creek near Revelstoke. However, three cutblocks remain and more than 5 kilometres of road has already been built. Argonaut must be protected under the North Columbia caribou herd planning process. 
Argonaut Creek is an intact valley in the heart of the Inland Temperate Rainforest, which is disappearing at an alarming rate. We must protect and restore this globally significant old growth ecosystem.
Caribou use the Argonaut Creek drainage for summer and early winter habitat. Logging Argonaut will destroy their old growth habitat and put caribou at greater predation risk resulting in population declines. 
The recent review of the province’s old growth forest management provides a blueprint for change in BC’s management of its forests. Government must enact the recommendations from the report starting with deferring all logging in high risk old growth areas such as Argonaut Creek. Please put an immediate stop to logging in this old forest where the ecosystem is at high risk of irreversible biodiversity loss.
Please cancel the auction of these remaining primarily old-growth logging blocks and restore the five kilometres of already-constructed road.
