Bird Watching Walk #1 - April 30

Join local wildlife biologist Harry van Oort, as we bird along the Greenbelt. This will be a great opportunity to observe a variety of local birds while learning about their biology and current conservation threats. When: April 30th, 6:30 am Where: Meet at the Revelstoke Skate Park About Harry: Harry first became interested in birds in 1985 (grade 5) when he moved to Canada from Scotland. In 86 he built a bird feeder outside his bedroom window. In 88 he was interested in falconry and trained two hawks. Harry has been working as a biologist since 96, with experience in several species-specific bird studies (Northern Goshawk, Brewer’s Sparrow, Song Sparrow, Savannah Sparrow, Black-capped Chickadee, Common Loon), and has worked extensively on bird studies in the Revelstoke region. Today he works for BC Hydro as a wildlife biologist.
