This workshop will be an introduction to common medicinal plants that grow well locally, such as lavender and mint. Dr. Mudry will teach us the health benefits of these herbs and demonstrate how they can be used in herbal tinctures and common cooking.

Medicinal Garden Workshop: Learn How To Grow & Utilize Common Medicinal Plants

Who: Join Dr. Katelyn Mudry for a medicinal garden workshop. All ages welcome.

Where: The workshop will be held in the Kimberley Community Garden (south of the swimming pool, on Rotary Drive)

When: Monday, August 24, from 6:30-8:00 PM. 

Cost: $5 per person

Please note that due to Covid-19 our workshop is limited to 11 participants. Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.

 

About the Dr. Mudry:

Dr. Mudry is a local naturopathic doctor. She obtained her 4 year doctoral degree along with a Masters of Science in Integrative Medicine from the National University of Natural Medicine. Her medical practice combines modern science and diagnostics with natural, traditional and conventional forms of treatment, such as botanical medicine.

About Medicinal Plants:

Medicinal plants have been used in traditional medicine practices since prehistoric times. Dr. Mudry believes that creating herbal products from local resources and educating about local herbs are key to sustainable natural medicine. This workshop will be an introduction to common medicinal plants that grow well locally, such as lavender and mint. Dr. Mudry will teach us the health benefits of these herbs and demonstrate how they can be used in herbal tinctures and common cooking. An experienced gardener will also be present to answer questions about growing herbs and creating your own medicinal garden at home.
