A Bee Happy Garden Workshop - CRANBROOK

Registration is closed for this event
The Bee Happy Garden Workshop will cover bee basics, how to attract bees to your garden, bee friendly plants, and how to build a native bee house! By the end of this workshop you will have the knowledge to increase the amount of veggies in your garden by increasing the number of pollinators and go home with a bee house you created.

Do you want to help the troubled bee population and increase your garden yield? Want to learn more about Mason and Leafcutter bees? Then the Bee Happy Garden Workshop hosted by Wildsight and the Cranbrook Food Action Committee is for you.

With bees pollinating 1/3 of our food supply, and with the honey bee populations on the decline, attention is turning to the gentle, solitary Mason and Leafcutter bees. These native bees do not produce honey meaning they are not territorial and the likelihood of getting stung is minimal.  Mason and Leafcutter bees are more resistant to mites, and can even be more effective pollinators than honey bees.

To register or find out more information about the workshop visit www.wildsight.ca/kimcran or call (250) 427-9325. Register soon to avoid disappointment or contact us to ask about volunteer bursaries. This is a great way to help the bee population and to increase the yield in your garden.

To find out more about the Kimberley Open Gate Garden, email dirk@wildsight.ca. To connect with the Cranbrook Public Produce Garden visit Cranbrook Food Action Committee on Facebook or email cranbrookfood@gmail.com.

We look forward to seeing you at this fun and informative workshop!
