Thompson Rotary Trail Nature Walk

Join Us for a Nature Walk on the Thompson Pack Trail! 

We're excited to invite you to a special guided nature walk along the Thompson Pack Trail in Creston, organized in collaboration with several local community groups. 

This trail, known for its a historical significance rich in history as the region’s first wildfire risk reduction logging block, offers a unique journey through varied ecosystems, from dry Douglas-fir forests to lush cedar-hemlock stands, eventually leading into the Sullivan Creek area, developed in 2017.

The walk will also highlight the importance of coexistence. We’re thrilled to have Dee Howard, the Creston Wildlife Coexistence Coordinator, join us for a bear spray demonstration.

We will walk to the first Sullivan Creek bridge and return, covering approximately 2.5 km round trip with about 200 m of elevation gain. The trail passes through a fire mitigation area before entering a shady forest for most of the route. Please register in advance for this free event.
