Trouble in the Headwaters: film screening + panel discussion — Fernie

Join us as we combine storytelling with science and conversation to explore the complex connection between clearcut logging and the increasing frequency of floods, landslides and droughts across our province. 

This event will feature a screening of Trouble in the Headwaters, a 25-minute documentary by Daniel J. Pierce about the disastrous 2018 flood event in Grand Forks, BC, featuring UBC Professor Dr. Younes Alila. 

Both Daniel and Younes will be present to introduce the film, and answer questions afterwards as part of a panel discussion with local experts and Wildsight’s forestry team (stay tuned for the full list of panelists). You’ll leave with a better understanding of what’s happening in your local watershed, and insights into ways we can all help.
