November 1 2025 Wildlife Friendly Fencing Work Bee

Wildlife-Friendly Fencing Work Bee – Saturday, November 1st
Location:

16072 Crawford Creek Rd, Crawford Bay (watch out for road side signage)

Old fences can be a serious hazard to wildlife - blocking migration, cutting off access to food and water, and even causing injury or death through entanglement. Wildslight Creston Valley is hosting another work bee to remove derelict barbed wire fencing and help restore safe passage for local animals. This work bee is part of a series funded by RDCk and the Kootenay Conservation Fund for Area A.

Join us at 10 AM for a hands-on work bee to improve habitat connectivity and protect wildlife.

Site information:

The terrain is moderately challenging in places. We have marked out the fence to be removed with flagging tape. An ATV will be present on-site to help and parking is available.

What to bring:

Pliers, hammer, protective glasses and gloves, sturdy boots, protective clothing

bug spray, a hat and plenty of water. Refreshments will be provided!

The abandoned fence removal will take a couple of hours. The more hands we have, the quicker work will go!

We’ll provide:

Refreshments , Good company and A meaningful and fun day outdoors!

We are excited to see you out there!
